Bar Order
Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2026
This policy explains what personal data Bar Order collects, why, and your rights over it. Bar Order is a personal, non-commercial project run by Ryan Cousins (an individual, not a company). For any privacy or data question, contact hello@barorder.co.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address (and a password, stored hashed by our auth provider) when you create an account.
- Your bar — the cocktails you save, the spirits you tell us you own, and any ratings or tasting notes you add. These are tied to your account.
- Newsletter — your email address, if you subscribe.
- Usage analytics — aggregate, privacy-friendly page and performance metrics. We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which are cookieless and do not track you across sites.
How we use it
- To provide your account and features (My Bar, What Can I Make, ratings & notes).
- To send you essential account emails (sign-in confirmation, password reset).
- To send the newsletter, if you opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
Who processes your data
We use trusted providers who process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication and database (your account and saved data).
- Vercel — hosting and cookieless analytics.
- Contentful — content management (recipes and articles; no personal data).
- Resend — transactional and newsletter email delivery.
We do not sell your personal data.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies needed to keep you signed in. Our analytics are cookieless. See our Cookie Policy for detail.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account at any time, which removes your saved data. To exercise any right, email hello@barorder.co. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Aggregate analytics contain no personal data.
